The European Composites, Plastics, and Polymer Processing Platform (ECP4) is proud to announce the addition of two esteemed institutions to its membership: The Nanotechnology Lab LTFN/COPE-Nano Center of Excellence of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the DTU CONSTRUCT, the Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering of the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). The new members were introduced to ECP4 activities during the association’s General Assembly held in Namur on June 5, in the context of the INDTech conference.

The Nanotechnology Lab LTFN/Centre of Excellence for Organic, Printed Electronics & NanoTechnologies (COPE-Nano), founded by Prof. S. Logothetidis, is a leader and an internationally acknowledged specialist in Organic Electronics and Photonics, Thin films, Nanomaterials and Nanoengineering Technologies, Nanomedicine, 3D Printing and 3D Bioprinting, Nanometrology, In-line precision Metrology, Quality Control of Processes, Automation, Additive and Digital Manufacturing. The lab boasts an impressive team of 45 expert scientists, including physicists, chemists, engineers, biologists, and medical doctors. Its world-class and unique facilities include 10 Pilot Lines and several TestBed facilities at 2500 m² of lab space, 70 affiliated labs, and 100 affiliated researchers across Europe, combined with strong activity in R&D projects and dynamic collaborations with SMEs, industry and academia.

DTU CONSTRUCT is a top EU-level institute undertaking research, education, innovation, and scientific advice of the highest quality within building design and processes, building construction and safety, building energy and services, solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, materials technology, and others. DTU CONSTRUCT’s focus areas include: circular plastic production, digital manufacturing & industry 4.0, injection moulding digitalization for zero-defect production, surface generation & digital twin.

Both institutions are deeply involved in a wide array of EU-funded projects, bringing significant expertise and innovation to ECP4. Their participation is anticipated to provide great added value to the platform, fostering advancements in composite, plastic, and polymer processing industries across Europe.

ECP4 members enthusiastically welcome the two new members, recognising the substantial contributions they will bring to the collaborative efforts aimed at driving technological progress and sustainability in the sector.
