ECP4 Welcomes CEA Liten and CANOE as New Members, Strengthening European Collaboration in Polymer Research and Innovation
The European Composites, Plastics, and Polymer Processing Platform (ECP4) is pleased to announce the addition of two distinguished members to its network: CEA Liten and CANOE. Their inclusion strengthens ECP4’s commitment to fostering innovation, sustainability, and industrial competitiveness in the European polymer and composites sector.
Advancing Sustainable Polymer Technologies with CEA Liten
CEA Liten, a key research institute within the Commissariat à l’Énergie Atomique et aux Énergies Alternatives (CEA), is at the forefront of new materials and energy transition technologies. With over 1,000 employees, 12 research platforms, and more than 200 industrial partners, CEA Liten brings cutting-edge expertise in eco-innovative materials, polymer recycling, and high-performance polymers. The institute’s Laboratory of Sustainable Polymers focuses on circular economy solutions, polymer upcycling, and bio-based materials, aligning with ECP4’s mission to support green and flexible manufacturing technologies.
CANOE: Pioneering Advanced Composites and Polymer Processing
CANOE, a French Research and Technology Organization (RTO), specializes in composites and advanced materials. With a strong emphasis on industrial transfer and upscaling, CANOE operates three locations across southwestern France, offering robot-assisted filament winding, polymer processing, additive manufacturing, and carbon fiber development. Their expertise in polymer recycling and sustainable composite manufacturing makes them a valuable asset to ECP4’s growing network of industry and research leaders.
A Strengthened European Innovation Ecosystem
By welcoming CEA Liten and CANOE, ECP4 further reinforces its role as Europe’s leading platform for collaborative research, industry-driven innovation, and policy advocacy in polymer processing and composites. Their membership enhances ECP4’s ability to address key challenges such as sustainable materials development, digitalization in polymer processing, and energy-efficient manufacturing.
“The addition of CEA Liten and CANOE marks a significant step forward for ECP4,” said Bertrand Fillon, ECP4 President. “Both institutions bring a wealth of expertise and a shared vision for advancing sustainable polymer technologies. We look forward to fostering new collaborations that will drive European competitiveness and sustainability.”
